The Rider Olympics

The Rider Olympics are an annual event that takes place on the same weekend the Riders come to Calgary to play the Stamps. The inaugural Rider Olympics were held in 2004. The festivities surrounding this event vary from year to year but always consist of food, drinks, and games. Whether it is a BBQ or pizza to eat, Pilsner, pop, or rye to drink - as a qualified Rider Olympian, you will be taken care of before the events occur. Some past events have included beer guzzling, pin the tail on the gopher, football toss, football bowling, obstacle course and Rider trivia.

6th Annual Rider Olympics - October 17th, 2009

Hello Riderfolks!

Please consider this your Official invitation to the 6^th Annual Rider Olympics being hosted on Saturday October 17^th.

The Stamps and Riders are neck and neck for the West Division lead. They need our support!

Plus, who can resist a chance to boo Henry Burris???  J 

I need to have your confirmation by September 15^th for both the number of game tickets you will need, as well as, how many people will be attending the Olympics before the game.

Game tickets will be $40 per person, and your Olympic Village Pass will be $60 (including ticket) per person.

I would like to thank Brett Thurston for his donation of $500 to this year’s Rider Olympics.

Brett is a Realtor with Century 21: The Professionals, and last year he advertised that he would make a donation for every client referred from the party.

Brett helped Mike and Michelle McNally find their new home in Renfrew. Thank you all! 

Also a quick shout out to all’dem new Rider fans who arrived during the past year and we are anxiously waiting the arrival of more in the next few months!

With the early game time, we will have the party start early, please be on time as we will not be able to delay. 

The agenda is scheduled as follows: 

10:00AM - Rider Olympians arrive for face painting and general dress-up

10:30AM – Olympic Games begin

12:00PM – Lunch is provided

12:30PM – Bus Arrives

1:30PM – Kickoff

5:00PM – Return Bus trip

6:00PM – Supper and V.I.P. Olympic After-Party!

A reminder to bring a camera, booze, swimsuits and towels.
